We have been considering how to create manuals in Japanese that are easy to translate, with the theme of "Creating Manuals in Easy-to-Translate Japanese."
"We received an inquiry from a company with the desire to improve their Japanese manuals for easier translation by attending a seminar led by experts in manual creation. They had questions such as "What are the points that should be improved for easier translation in Japanese?", "Is this manual style sufficient?", "What are the future plans?", and "Is there a better way to present the information?".

●Seminar Content
・Use actual customer manuals as training texts
- Based on the manual analysis results, we will conduct lectures while incorporating exercises, focusing on points such as "concise expressions", "clarifying the subject", and "improving redundant expressions" in order to create Japanese sentences that are easy to translate.
・"How to Create a Table of Contents" covers headings (chapters, sections, and subsections) and discusses improvement ideas in a workshop format.
・How can we improve the existing layout from the perspective of appropriate grouping of information, and discuss improvement ideas in a workshop format.

Using our own product manual as a basis, the text and exercises were structured, making it easy to grasp any issues and providing a good opportunity to objectively review the manual. We were able to recognize the importance of organizing and weighting information. In the lecture, we were able to expand our understanding of problem areas by comparing good and bad examples. I was also impressed by the fact that even without product knowledge, we were able to create easy-to-understand manuals. This made me realize the importance of writing skills and I feel that the knowledge I gained this time can be applied in other areas besides manual creation. It was a very meaningful content.

By using actual manuals that are being created instead of general examples, participants seem to be motivated to work on them because they feel that "this is relevant to me."
In order to provide training that is immediately useful for business, thorough preparation is essential. From the preparation stage of the training, we will have multiple meetings with the person in charge to discuss the selection of key points and examples to be covered in the lectures.
This time, 10 people participated. With a small number of participants, the reactions during the course were directly conveyed, so the instructor was able to approach the lecture with a good sense of tension.
