We have received a request from Rosetta Stone Japan Inc. to localize the UI, messages, user guides, and promotional content for their English learning materials.


The Japanese version was translated as one of the languages at our American headquarters, but in order to expand into the Japanese market, we were approached by our company to provide more natural sentence expressions that Japanese learners can learn more smoothly.

We have a dedicated team consisting of one Project Manager, three translators, and one reviewer to ensure consistency in translation style and the ability to handle urgent requests within a single material.

The most important aspect is the Japanese expression after translation.
We work exclusively with translators who have experience in consumer product translation and excel in writing soft and fluid expressions. We avoid literal translations and strive to make the Japanese text easy to understand, sometimes using free translations when necessary.
For example, even though a phrase may be concise in English, it may not provide enough explanation for Japanese learners, so we make sure to provide detailed explanations. However, we must be careful not to stray too far from the original meaning or make the text unsuitable for the learning context.
To achieve this, we refer to comments from the original English creators at Rosetta Stone and communicate the translation intent to our clients.
Additionally, when representatives from Rosetta Stone's headquarters visit Japan, we participate in product study sessions to deepen our understanding of their materials.

Since requesting the localization of web promotion content in 2008, we have been working together for 5 years. Initially, we asked for translation of user guides in addition to content, but now we mainly request translation of UI and message for learning materials.
When there are modifications to the software at our headquarters in America, we have to request translations on a short deadline, but we are very grateful that you are able to adjust from estimation to delivery according to our desired deadline.
Even when there are questions about the translation, we can rely on the translation coordinator at Human Science to quickly confirm and provide peace of mind.
Since last year, we have also requested DTP editing for our pamphlets, and we are grateful for the smooth response.
