"Aiming for Business Efficiency through Utilizing RPA"

 

- Please tell us about the background of introducing e-learning.


Mr. Imai: At our company, we have set the goal of improving business efficiency through the use of RPA. In order to utilize RPA, we also believe that IT education is necessary as a preliminary step.
In addition, due to the necessity of promoting DX, we have planned to conduct e-learning on "Logical Thinking," "Data Utilization," and "Overview of RPA" in the Management Planning Department, which is also responsible for information system functions.

 

 

- Please tell us the reason for choosing our company.


Mr. Kitsunezuka: Initially, we considered using commercially available e-learning materials. However, since many of them are offered in a subscription format, it would be costly to provide long-term e-learning education to all employees. Therefore, we decided to create original e-learning materials instead.

Mr. Takasawa: We plan to start our education program in January 2022 and contacted several companies in October 2021. Due to the urgency, we received a quick response and decided to place an order with Human Science Co., Ltd., which had a good cost performance.
Initially, we were considering starting without an e-learning system, but Human Science Co., Ltd. introduced us to Moodle, an LMS. It is open source and can be built on-premises, so we installed it ourselves.
There were some parts that we didn't understand in the settings, and we didn't have much time until the launch, so we decided to ask Human Science Co., Ltd., which has a track record of building LMS, for help.
We also considered other LMS options that can be built on-premises, but we chose Moodle to keep costs down as it is open source.

- How has the response been since starting education through e-learning?


Mr. Kitsunezuka: This is for all employees, but more people are using it than originally planned.
From the participants, we have received feedback such as "It is easy to understand and easy to follow with professional narration and animation."
In addition, the materials were created in PowerPoint and were able to be used not only for e-learning, but also for group training and workshops after being prepared for e-learning.

Mr. TakasawaAs for Moodle, there are times when I don't understand how to operate it, but I can use it without any trouble.

 

 

- How was the progress and communication of the project?


Mr. Kitsunezuka: With our first attempt at e-learning, we proceeded with trial and error.
It was difficult to predict what kind of learning materials would be produced, but the end result exceeded our expectations and turned out well.

Mr. Takasawa: Not only did you meet the deadline, but I also appreciate the same-day response to my questions.
Regarding the implementation of Moodle, you were able to respond to my inquiries on the same day. From the pre-contract stage, I felt reassured that you were able to answer my questions about how it could be done and what could be done immediately.

 

 

- Do you have any future plans or things you would like to work on?


Mr. Kitsunezuka: We have purchased the iSpring learning creation tool, and we plan to use it to create internal training materials and further promote the use of e-learning.

Mr. Takasawa: Currently, only employee names can be registered on Moodle, but we will also consider managing learners in the future. We plan to further utilize the system by coordinating with our internal HR system and implementing operations at the organizational level.
