Nippon Access, Inc. had previously conducted compliance education through in-person training sessions segmented by hierarchy. However, since there was no common training material for all employees, they considered creating original e-learning content to promote company-wide awareness and requested Human Science's assistance. The developed materials were taken by approximately 4,000 employees, and over 95% of respondents gave positive feedback in surveys, helping to share compliance awareness throughout the entire company.

――HS: Could you tell us about the background of consulting Human Science this time?

NIPPON ACCESS: Our company wanted to raise compliance awareness throughout the entire organization. We have conducted training and awareness campaigns via company-wide emails before, but we wanted to do it in a way that would really "resonate." So, we planned to try e-learning with illustrations and manga-style content.

There had been training for new employees and newly appointed managers and department heads, but there were no materials for all employees. That is precisely why we wanted to deliver compliance training tailored to our company's actual situation to all employees.

Reasons for Choosing Human Science

――HS: You chose the illustration format considering its approachability. Did you consider several production companies?

Nihon Access: We spoke with 3 to 4 companies. We searched on the internet and made inquiries. Some companies offered ready-made materials, but we wanted to create everything from scratch ourselves.

Ultimately, we narrowed it down to two companies that could create content from scratch. Among them, Human Science properly listened to our requests and responded, "We can do exactly that." We also confirmed that they could technically adapt to our e-learning system, so we decided to entrust them with the project.

Key Points of the Proposal

<Production Progress Schedule>
The production of this teaching material proceeded according to the following schedule. It is organized chronologically to make it easier to visualize the overall flow of production.

October 2024: Initial hearing, presentation of rough estimate
December 2024: Order confirmed, scenario creation started (Nihon Access)
March 2025: Kickoff, schedule planning
March to June 2025: Main production (storyboard creation, rough and final illustration production, audio creation, content development using iSpring)
July 2025: Delivery and start of internal rollout


――HS: How did the actual production proceed?

Nihon Access: We prepared the scenario ourselves for a slide-by-slide learning format. We asked Human Science to handle the illustration production and content development.

They responded quickly even to detailed correction requests. It was really helpful that they reflected even the smallest details, like "changing the color of the drink."

――HS: Thank you very much. The illustrator worked in a different style than usual, so they enjoyed drawing it.

Nihon Access: I think the illustrations turned out even better than we had imagined. The illustration of the "power harassment boss" that appeared on the first slide was especially impactful and very well done.

――HS: How was the communication and support system during production?

Nihon Access: They responded carefully to our requests, and even when the schedule became tight, they responded quickly, allowing us to conduct the training as planned. We are very satisfied.

――HS: Thank you for your kind words. Knowing that you enjoyed the impact and presentation of the illustrations is encouraging for us as creators.

Process Until Completion of One Scene

Based on the provided scenario, rough illustrations were created in a graphic novel style. Completed illustrations with colors and details finished.

――HS: How was the response after distributing the completed training materials?

Nihon Access: We uploaded it to our in-house e-learning system and had all employees take the course. The number of participants exceeded 4,000. According to the survey, over 95% gave positive feedback. Many comments included, "It was easy to understand in illustration format" and "The length was just right."

On the other hand, there were opinions such as "too simple" and "too typical," but since it is created based on actual cases that have occurred, we feel that it is sufficiently effective. There were almost no negative opinions about the training material itself.

――HS: Please tell us about your future outlook.

Nihon Access: We gained great confidence from this training material production. From next fiscal year onward, we plan to continue implementing it while updating the materials. Also, we intend to utilize the delivered illustrations for internal posters and other training materials.
