Presented on "Machine Translation and Terminology Application" at LocWorld36 Tokyo

Recently, an international event for the localization/translation/interpreting industry, LocWorld, was held at Hilton Tokyo Bay, bringing together industry professionals from around the world.

The theme of this LocWorld is "Digital Transformation." There were various presentations on the impacts brought to businesses and their surrounding environments by the latest technologies such as IoT, big data, blockchain, and AI, as well as how to utilize these technologies.

Nearly 30 presentations were made, and the conclusion of most of the talks I listened to was that "the most important thing is people" and "deeper communication is becoming necessary." No matter how much technology evolves, it seems that "the connection between people" will continue to be important in the future.

At this event, Yuki Nakayama from Human Science gave a presentation titled 'How to Apply Glossaries to Neural Machine Translation.'

In recent years, many companies have been offering neural machine translation services, but the terminology features that are essential for industrial translation are mostly not implemented. As a result, there is a situation where the adoption of neural machine translation in industrial translation has not progressed.

At Human Science, we are advancing the application of terminology in neural machine translation while experimenting with methods in real projects.

In this presentation, we shared the background of trial and error in machine translation and terminology application testing, and explained the methods we are currently using in human sciences.

Human Science has a proven track record of implementing various machine translation solutions, and we offer a variety of options tailored to our clients' needs.

If you have concerns such as "I can't decide whether to implement it because terminology cannot be applied in neural machine translation," please feel free to consult Human Science.
