Panel Discussion of TC Symposium 2018 Tokyo on August 28, 2018 (Tuesday)
"Required Skills and Development for In-House Manuals: Recommendations for Industrial Equipment Manual Creators and Translators in the Era of Connected Industries"
Hiroyuki Yasuoka, a manual creation consultant, will take the stage as a coordinator.
Purpose of the Discussion and Purpose of the Lecture
In the production of industrial equipment manuals, it is often necessary to handle in-house due to the close collaboration required between the development/design department and the TC department.
In the context of challenges such as improving productivity through work style reform, the need for rapid response to multilingual manuals due to globalization, and labor shortages caused by declining birth rates and an aging population, what changes are required in the production field?
With the arrival of the Connected Industries era, industrial equipment is becoming increasingly intelligent, organically connecting things to things and people to things through IoT, and the wave of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, combined with big data and AI, is accelerating the "autonomization" of production sites.
However, there is a sense of crisis that product manuals may be left behind by this wave.
In such situations, what kind of industrial equipment manuals are expected in the production field? How should the personnel and skills required for their creation and translation evolve? This will provide insights on how to effectively develop people.
Discussion Points
- Organize the current status and challenges of industrial equipment manual production sites
・ Share information about the changes occurring in the field where industrial equipment is used
- Discussing what kind of transformation is required for TC in connected industries
・ Identify how TC must change in response to the above changes
- Explore the differences between the skills and personnel that have been required so far and those that will be required in the future
Discuss how to cultivate the human resources and skills that will be required in the future
