[Web Seminar] Prepare for Working in the Era of COVID-19: It's Not Too Late! How to Organize Your Work to Enhance Telework Productivity (6/25)

Web Seminar on June 25, 2020 (Thursday)

Preparing for Work Styles with COVID-19
It's not too late! How to Organize Tasks to Enhance Telework Productivity

will be held.

———————————————————————————————————————

In response to the new coronavirus, many companies are being forced to transition to non-face-to-face work styles, such as telecommuting and staggered commuting, which are different from the past.

On the other hand, it is also true that many companies feel this necessity but are hesitant to adopt new ways of working.

One of the main reasons often cited is the lack of clarity in task organization and division, which is a characteristic of Japanese corporate culture.

I want to implement telework, but...

  • ・Until now, I have judged the workload situation based on the visible members' conditions and allocated tasks according to my sense of balance, so I don't know how to allocate tasks when they become invisible.
  • Since it is a black box who is doing what, it seems difficult to help each other or distribute the workload when working remotely.
  • New employees, whether fresh graduates or mid-career hires, cannot progress in their work without detailed face-to-face instructions on the overall picture of the business and what needs to be done now.

Many Japanese companies tend to have their business operations and methods dependent on individual employees, resulting in a lack of an objective overview of the entire operation. As a result, instructions and handovers rely on intuition and verbal transmission, and when remote work is introduced, operations can suddenly become unmanageable, leading to a decrease in productivity.

When introducing a new way of working, the focus is often on platforms such as tools and systems. However, we believe that the first step should be to take stock of the current operations and organize them, as well as to clearly define and document the roles and methods for each task.

In this seminar, we will introduce tips for organizing operations as a manual creation company, as well as examples of initiatives from other companies (such as major electronics manufacturers and major telecommunications companies) that are actively working on the development of operational manuals.

Through the business organization workshop, you can learn practically, so this is definitely content that those who are about to work on organizing and improving internal business manuals, as well as those who want to organize their own work, should refer to.
