Overview

This time, I will talk about the theme of 'visualizing the challenges and improvements of manuals.'

Manual production without clear indicators like sales, making it difficult to see the results of efforts.

In the production field, various concerns can be heard.

"I created a manual, but I have no feedback from either the company or the customers, so I'm not confident if it was done correctly."
I took over the manual creation tasks, but when I tried to create it by imitating my predecessor's manual, I was scolded by my boss.
"Even though I am busy with my main duties, no one is helping me, and I can't organize what I should ask for."
I received instructions from my boss to create a manual, but without any explanation of the intent or background of the manual, I have no choice but to tackle it in my own way.

Behind these voices, it seems there are challenges with the manuals and the need for improvements, as well as the difficulty in presenting the results of efforts, while the person in charge is overwhelmed with their primary duties and is creating the manuals in a state of confusion.

To effectively create and improve manuals with outcomes that are not easily visible, it is necessary to visualize the current issues (AsIs) and clearly define the desired state (ToBe) before proceeding. However, the reality is that corporate representatives have few opportunities to learn about these methods.

I want to know the current issues with the manual.
"I want to know the design methods for the ideal state"
We want to gain consensus for improvement from stakeholders and draw out cooperation.
I want to visualize the results of improvements and report them to my supervisor.

In this seminar, we will introduce an approach to address the above challenges based on our past consulting achievements.

If you are about to work on improving your internal manuals, if you are currently working on it but lack confidence in your methods and approaches, or if you are doing well but want to compare your methods with those of other companies for verification, please join us for information gathering.

This will be the 7th session, but it is designed so that even those who have never participated in past seminars can join as a one-time attendee.

・Active as a manual evaluator and consultant for major manufacturers' manual production
・Since 2008, continuously responsible as a dedicated instructor for the product manual development department of a major FA equipment manufacturer.
- "How to Create Easy-to-Understand Instruction Manuals and Know-How for Reducing Production Costs" and "Techniques for Creating Manuals Useful for Multilingual Deployment" are among the themes for which I have served as a seminar instructor.
