Overview
Recently, many companies in the manufacturing field have been working on themes such as improving work efficiency, ensuring safety, and enhancing branding through manuals.
Among them, "How to proceed with skills transfer in the field" seems to be a particularly challenging issue.
"How can we reflect the expertise of skilled technicians in our manuals?"
"How can we consolidate scattered information to standardize support quality?"
We often hear these voices.
In addition, the task of creating such manuals is often done in-house while juggling with regular duties at the site, so there are unique challenges such as "not having enough time as desired", "having trouble getting cooperation from the site", "not knowing where to start".
On the other hand, there is a lack of information such as know-how and successful case studies from other companies to smoothly promote skills transfer and solve these challenges, so many company representatives are struggling with the question, "Is this approach really the best?"

- - Engaged in projects to create operation manuals, business manuals, various instruction manuals, product utilization guides, and educational materials for corporate internal systems.
- ・Active as a consultant for manual evaluation and manual creation for major manufacturers
- ・Since 2008, I have been responsible for teaching dedicated instructors to the development department of a major FA equipment manufacturer's product manual.
- - "Tips for creating easy-to-understand instruction manuals and reducing production costs" and "Techniques for creating manuals that are useful for multilingual deployment" are the themes for the seminar instructor.
- ・Presented "Introduction to Video Manuals" at the 2013 TC Symposium Special Session
- ・Presented "Creating Video Manuals - Practical Edition" at the 2014 TC Symposium Special Session
Kaori Horikoshi
- ・Technical Writing Experience: 13 years
- ・Engaged in project to create Microsoft Office product seminar materials, books, various product manuals, help, and business manuals
- - Involved in manual evaluation, consulting for major electronics manufacturers, and development of seminar materials for major insurance company representatives.
- ・Responsible for operating manual for multifunction printers (20 languages) as a translation director, not only for Japanese manuals but also for other languages.
- ・Active as a machine translation consultant
