Overview

    Recently, neural machine translation (NMT) has been gaining attention in various places.

    Compared to traditional statistical machine translation, the accuracy of NMT for Japanese has been significantly improved.

    We have verified how much translation work can be streamlined by introducing NMT into actual projects since 2016.

    In addition, we have summarized the unique issues that have been revealed through this verification process using NMT.

    In this presentation, we will discuss the quality of NMT, the optimal content for NMT, and the issues and solutions for NMT.


    About the Machine Translation (MT) Summit

    This is an international conference where researchers and translation professionals gather to announce the latest achievements in machine translation and give invited lectures. Since the first conference was held in Hakone in 1987, more than 300 people have participated each time.

    This time, which marks the 16th edition, will be held in Nagoya for 5 days from September 18th (Monday) to 22nd (Friday).

Previously worked as a Project Manager, Translator, and Reviewer.
