Quality Control

Our Commitment to Translation Quality

What is "translation quality"? It means no mistranslations, no omissions, and appropriate Japanese language. At Human Science, we provide translation quality that satisfies our customers through "translator management," "utilization of QA tools," and "full review by dedicated reviewers."

Translator Database and Feedback

At Hiring

At Human Science, only translators who have passed a test called a "trial" are involved in our work.

At Human Science, we conduct trials consisting of five categories: "IT," "Marketing," "Business Documents," "Contract Documents," and "Video."
Although these are small translation tests of a few hundred words each, we design the tasks carefully to assess the translators' abilities within this limited scope,
and we regularly update the test content to select translators in line with current trends.

Submitted trials are checked by our in-house team of technical reviewers and linguistic reviewers,
using more than 100 criteria, the same as in regular translation projects. The pass or fail decision is made after deliberation by the review team, with a pass rate of only 8%.

We database all trial scores, trends, and areas of expertise of translators registered in this way.

Project Completion

Furthermore, at Human Science, we provide feedback to translators for every project.
As with the trial phase, the results of a thorough review based on over 100 criteria are managed and quantified in the same database, and evaluated on a four-level scale: "Rank AA", "A", "B", and "No Evaluation".

By operating a translator management system that combines this feedback and database,
we efficiently assign the most suitable translators to projects in a short time.

Utilization of QA Tools

We use proprietary tools to perform efficient, stable QA checks.

Quality Control Using Tools with QA Checker

In-house Tools (Style Check)
3; Create a list of registered styles using regular expressions, etc.
3; Detect terminology violations collectively using GREP
In-house Tools (Multiple Translation Detection)
3; Detect multiple translations and determine or correct translation variations/unified terminology according to context
3; Detect multiple translations, numerical discrepancies, and multiple source texts collectively at the segment level
3; Pre-register memory to detect segments that differ from registered translations

Batch updates even after submission

・Automatically extract relevant sections using tools for overall related corrections
・Reflect corrections efficiently and accurately

We also utilize tools such as Trados QA Checker, QA Distiller, and Xbench.
