We will be presenting at the 25th Translation Festival, hosted by JTF (Japan Translation Federation), on November 26th, 2015 (Thursday). Overview of the Lecture

With the acceleration of domestic companies' overseas expansion, there is a growing demand to quickly and cost-effectively translate a large amount of documents into English and multiple languages.

Amidst this, technologies such as content reuse and automated typesetting are gaining attention, and more companies are adopting DITA and CMS.

In DITA and CMS, the concept of "topic-oriented" is used to manage a single document by dividing it into smaller topics (files), so a different approach is required from traditional "book-oriented" documents composed of chapters, sections, and subsections.

However, many companies fail to achieve their original goals of cost reduction and efficiency improvement, or even experience a decrease in translation quality, because they introduce DITA or CMS using the same traditional methods and processes without understanding the necessary approach in this topic-oriented environment.

Therefore, in this session, we will introduce common failure cases and issues based on examples from manufacturing companies that have introduced DITA and CMS, and discuss the points necessary for process construction and quality maintenance when creating topic-oriented documents.

- Involved in standardizing English document quality and creating style guides for corporate clients, as well as conducting research and verification of original texts that are easy to machine-translate.
