Machine Translation Seminar 2

As the number of documents to be translated increases, deadlines and costs are being forced to be reduced.

In order to respond to such situations, various manufacturers and translation companies are considering the introduction of machine translation.

Certainly, it is possible to achieve cost reduction and shortened delivery time by introducing machine translation.

However, it is important to prepare the original text before translating.

Therefore, in this seminar, we will explain the process of "Pre-edit," which involves rewriting the original text in an easy-to-understand manner before translation.

By performing pre-edit, the original text becomes easier for machines to recognize, and it is possible to improve the quality of the translated text.

As a result, further cost reduction and shortened delivery time can be expected.

Generally, pre-edit is often seen as just "preparation" before machine translation.

Some people may worry that adding the pre-edit process will result in additional time and cost.

However, by understanding the conditions and situation of the project and managing it appropriately, you can gain the benefit of only having to "prepare" and improve the quality of the original text, which is an important step.

In addition, the point of pre-editing is effective not only for machine translation, but also when translating by hand.

Machine Translation_Pre-edit Effect

In this seminar, we will introduce the conditions and methods for making pre-editing more effective, in addition to the points of rewriting. We will also explain the thought process for determining the necessity of pre-editing for each project.

In addition, you can deepen your understanding by incorporating workshops and case studies.

This is the third installment of our machine translation seminar, but the content is designed to be understandable for those who have not attended the first or second installment.

Attending continuously will deepen your understanding, but even attending only once is not a problem.

After the seminar, we will be happy to provide individual consultations as needed.

Feel free to join us!

"Machine Translation" - A Growing Market in the World

The global market for machine translation is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 23.53% between 2014 and 2019. In Europe, many companies have adopted machine translation and it is recognized as a strong ally for overseas expansion.

As Japanese companies accelerate their overseas expansion, the need to introduce machine translation to efficiently translate documents for overseas audiences is expected to increase.
