We will participate in the session on "Streamlining and Standardizing Translation Operations" at the TC Symposium Tokyo 2017.

"Streamlining and Standardizing Business Operations - Aiming for Problem Solving and Standardization in Translation Services" Our Tokuda will participate as a panelist.


■Purpose■

The wave of globalization is only increasing year by year.

As a result, the demand for document translation services has been steadily increasing year by year.

On the other hand, there are various challenges piled up within the company, such as responding to talent acquisition, promoting in-house production, shortening delivery times, and reducing budgets.

Amidst this, the theme is to improve the productivity of document translation by seeking to streamline in-house translation operations, creating a sustainable workflow, and implementing the PDCA cycle.

We will explore how to effectively link the utilization of internal human resources and support tools, as well as the assetization of data, to the productivity of translation from both the perspective of on-site promoters and consultants.

 

■Points■

I would like to propose, from both the perspective of the manufacturer and the consultant aimed at solving challenges, hints for those who are currently struggling with how to break away from personalized tasks through standardization and how to inherit data assets, as well as for those who wish to address these issues in the future.

In discussions, we will promote the sharing of on-site struggles and current situations as raw voices, and propose specific methods for improvement, as well as goal setting and management methods (PDCA) aimed at those issues.

・ Translation is completely outsourced to external vendors, and the quality and process have become a black box.

・ The translation work is personalized, and the quality and productivity vary from person to person.

・ Tools such as machine translation are not being effectively utilized

What should we start with and how should we tackle these issues in translation work?

In this presentation, we will introduce specific approaches to improve translation quality and processes based on case studies of translation work improvement in domestic companies, aiming to bring them closer to the ideal state and enhance productivity.
