"Reducing Time and Costs with the First Introduction of Machine Translation! ~Methods for Utilizing Medical Translation~" will be held.

 

This seminar will be part of the second event held on April 6th, 2017 (Thursday) titled "Utilizing Technology in Financial Translation: How-To Training with Examples from Major Pharmaceutical Company Annual Reports - IFRS Compliance".

We will focus on two topics that are drawing attention in the translation industry, specifically in the medical and pharmaceutical fields.

Overview

Recently, as time constraints such as simultaneous global development and early application systems become more stringent, more companies are adopting machine translation to improve the efficiency of translation time and costs.
However, many people may think that it is difficult to use machine translation for Japanese due to its grammatical complexity.
If you understand and utilize the characteristics of machine translation correctly, it can also be adapted well for Japanese.

 

In this seminar, we will focus on translation in the medical and biochemical fields (clinical and non-clinical trial related documents, medical equipment and analysis equipment manuals, academic papers, etc...).
We will also introduce the steps for implementing machine translation in the medical and biochemical fields, as well as the results of implementing machine translation for medical and analysis equipment manufacturers.

 

In addition, we will introduce the results of quality evaluation tests for Google Neural Machine Translation (GNMT), which has been a hot topic recently. You can check the differences in quality between conventional statistical-based engines and GNMT for various fields such as paper abstracts, CIOMS, and manuals.
