Overview of the Lecture

With the acceleration of domestic companies' overseas expansion, there is a growing need to quickly and cost-effectively translate a large volume of documents into English and multiple languages.

In this context, technologies such as content reuse and automated typesetting are gaining attention, and the number of companies adopting DITA and CMS is also increasing.

In DITA and CMS, the concept of "topic-oriented" is used, which involves dividing a single document into detailed topics (files) for management, requiring a different approach compared to the traditional "book-oriented" documents structured by chapters, sections, and items.

However, there are many cases where companies have failed to achieve their original goals of cost reduction and efficiency, or have experienced a decline in translation quality, because they implemented DITA and CMS using the same methods and processes as before, without understanding the topic-oriented approach that is required.

In this session, we will introduce common failures and issues based on case studies from manufacturing companies that have implemented DITA and CMS, and we will cover the key points for building processes and maintaining quality necessary for creating topic-oriented documentation.

Currently, we also provide consulting for building translation processes and quality management for companies, as well as support for creating documents that are easy to translate.

Responsible for the introduction of machine translation, quality evaluation and verification of multiple engines, and information exchange with engine vendors.
Involved in the standardization of English quality and the creation of style guides for companies, as well as conducting research and verification of source texts that are easy to machine translate.
