At the TAUS* Executive Forum in Tokyo 2014 held over two days from April 10, 2014
Our translation team, Hideki Honda and Ai Tokuda,
"The Potential of Pre-editing in MT (Machine Translation) - Leveraging the Strengths of MT Engines"
("The Importance of Understanding the Strengths of Different MT Engines")
has been announced.
At the Forum in Tokyo 2014, we presented empirical data on quality improvement in machine translation through pre-editing, which garnered interest from many participants.
The actual data verification for quality improvement through pre-editing was very well received.
The presentations at the TAUS Forum spanned two days and included 19 presentations from various organizations and companies across five categories: Opening, Innovation, Best Practices in Translation Automation, Crowdsourced Translation, Translation Data, and TAUS Industry-Shared Service.
In the future, "speed, real-time" and "diversification of quality" are likely to become key phrases in translation.
In this trend, it is believed that machine translation will occupy an important position in Japan, similar to that in Europe and the United States, which are ahead in this field.
