As the number of documents to be translated increases, deadlines and costs are being pressured to be reduced.

In response to such situations, various manufacturers and translation companies are considering the introduction of machine translation.

Indeed, the introduction of machine translation can achieve cost reduction and shorter delivery times.

However, it is important to prepare the original text before translating.


In this seminar, we will explain the process of "pre-editing," which involves rewriting the original text to make it easier to understand before translation.

By performing pre-editing, the original text becomes more recognizable to machines, which can improve the quality of the translated text.

As a result, further cost reductions and shorter delivery times can be expected.


In general, pre-editing is often seen as just a "preparation" before machine translation.

Some people may be concerned that adding a process called pre-editing will incur additional time and costs.

However, by understanding the project's conditions and circumstances and operating appropriately, one can gain the benefits of merely making that "preparation," which is an important process that can improve the quality of the original text itself.


Furthermore, the points of pre-editing are effective not only for machine translation but also when translations are done by hand.
