JOINReason for Joining the Company

Into the World of IT and Translation

I studied law at university. Translation was something I was not familiar with, but I have always liked English and I am the type of person who pays attention to English and Japanese translations in my hobbies such as movies and games.
During my job search, I came across the job of "Translation Coordinator" while looking for a job that uses English. It seemed interesting, and that's how I came across Human Science. I was interested in the fact that they mainly handle translations of IT products/services, and after listening to the explanations and discussions during the information session and interview, I had a good impression of the work and the atmosphere within the company.

CAREERFrom Joining to Now

Responsible for business at an early stage

After joining the company, you will spend about a week learning basic manners as a working professional, and then you will learn various things such as actual work through OJT at your assigned department. At first, there were many tasks such as layout checks before delivery, and I learned the overall flow while handling part of the work. After that, I started with small projects and eventually became able to handle them from start to finish on my own. Of course, with the support of senior employees, I was able to proceed with peace of mind while resolving any doubts.

WORKCurrent Business Content

Accomplish multitasking effectively

When a project from a client I am in charge of occurs, I confirm/analyze the content and request it to our registered translators. After the translation is delivered, we ask for a review from internal/external reviewers and then check and deliver it. Although there is a lot of communication with other people, we are working to improve efficiency by using project management tools within the department. Also, while there is not much difference in the process of handling projects, for the clients I am in charge of, each cycle is very short. We need to handle multiple projects at the same time, meet strict deadlines, and consider both quality and cost. This is a perfect job for those who are good at communicating with various people and prioritizing multiple projects.

WORTHWHILEJob Satisfaction

Be conscious of the whole and make it better.

Being able to be involved in the translation process from beginning to end is the role of a Service Consultant.
While translators research the product or service they are translating, it can be difficult to keep the entire project in mind as each case is unique. However, as a translation coordinator, one can be involved in all stages and contribute to improving the overall quality from a broader perspective. Additionally, by continuing to work with the same client, one can become more familiar with the products and services, leading to a sense of attachment. This can then lead to a desire to make the final product even better. When seeing the Japanese translation of a product or service that one has worked on, it can be a small but moving experience.

FUTUREFuture Goals

Aiming for well-balanced information provision.

Our goal is to respond to each project with a broader perspective in mind. While it is important to quickly and carefully handle each project, that alone is not enough. Even in short routine tasks, we always want to consider various things such as improving quality, business improvement, and the level of our translators. By doing so, it will have a positive effect for our clients, translators, and Human Science. In addition, we also strive for more careful communication. Providing the right amount of information will make our work smoother. As we also communicate with overseas clients, we believe that improving our English skills is essential.
