JOINReason for Joining the Company

Feeling the increasing social needs

I joined the company as a new graduate and it has been my 21st year. During my job hunting, I applied to various companies without narrowing down my job type, so I didn't have a specific image of the manual industry even after the interview. However, at that time, Windows95 was released in Japan and the IT boom was sweeping the society. As a result, there was a high demand for PC instruction manuals, and I was attracted to the idea of being able to work on cutting-edge projects. I was fortunate enough to join Human Science and have been involved in manual work ever since. Even as times change, I continue to feel the depth and expanding needs of this fascinating job.

CAREERFrom Joining to Now

Responsible for a wide range of tasks from upstream to downstream

During the first five years of my employment, I was involved in the production of user manuals for consumer software, gaining experience in all stages from manuscript creation to delivery to the printing company. After that, I was in charge of project management for a large-scale project to revamp the business system of a major automotive manufacturer. Currently, I work as a manual consultant, involved in consulting services. Recently, in order to have more direct dealings with clients, I have held corporate manual seminars utilizing the experience I have gained at our company. Through these seminars, I have become more aware of the challenges that companies face in manual production and I am constantly proposing ways in which we can provide our expertise as a service.

Promoting and Proposing "Ease of Understanding"

Our main business is consulting for companies facing issues with their manuals. Some of our clients have their own manual departments, while others have manuals created as part of their design department's tasks. For one manufacturer, it was crucial to improve the quality of their manuals from a designer's perspective to a user-friendly perspective in order to stay ahead of their competitors. That's where we come in, offering manual creation using the expertise we have cultivated. Just because the designer knows the product best doesn't mean the manual will be the most understandable for the user. It is our job to assist with the customer's internal production process and create manuals from the user's perspective. We prioritize effectively conveying the product's appeal and the thoughts of the developers and designers.

The potential of expanding manuals

I feel fulfilled being able to directly consult with major corporations and manufacturers. At a rocket development company, there was a problem within the company where the manual was difficult to understand, but a solution had not been found. At that time, through our regularly held open seminars, they became interested in our services and we began doing business together. Our manual services are useful for companies where the amount and depth of information is valuable, not just limited to the manufacturing industry. In the insurance industry, salespeople and agents need to have a deep and wide knowledge of products, so we have been receiving more projects to create easy-to-remember manuals for insurance products, and I feel that the potential for manuals is expanding.

FUTUREFuture Goals

Developing Talent That Can See Through the Essence

There are still many documents in the world. Not only for users of our products, but also for example, by utilizing our knowledge in specifications when developing systems, there have been cases where the quality and efficiency of development have been improved. We tell our members every day, but there are no customers who have a clear understanding of our company's issues from the beginning. In order to be able to discover potential issues and lead to solutions, we want to develop team members who can sympathize with customers' vague concerns, come up with hypotheses, and explain them thoroughly, and work together to create the future of the industry.
