In December 2013, we received a consultation for the creation of a TabletForm manual through the Human Science website.

Customer's Concern: "I want to improve the quality of my manual!"

- The manual included with the software product is created in-house, but by the development team (SE).

　Not user-friendly as it has been created in a self-taught manner.

・I want to review the operation manual in conjunction with the release of the new product "Tablet Form".

・Created with Word, but it doesn't move as expected when trying to make a fancy layout

・Distributed in PDF format created with Word. Considering the characteristics of the product, PC,

　To make it easier to view and search on tablets, we also want to create HTML help.

We propose Human Science's solution "Establishment of Manual Evaluation, Analysis, and Manual Creation Technology"

In 2014, based on the challenges of Hammock Corporation that we had discussed over the phone, we analyzed and evaluated actual manual data. We made the following proposals.

1. 1. Manual Evaluation and Analysis, Improvement Report

　① Review of Table of Contents Structure

　・By changing the title from "Function Name" to "Purpose-Oriented",

　　Make it easier for users to visualize the content they are writing

　- By grouping the functions used by the user in chronological order,

　　Ensure that users can smoothly proceed with operations.

　② Suggestion for improving manual description

　(Example)

　- Include the purpose of the manual and each chapter in the lead sentence.

　　Make it easy for users to understand the content smoothly.

　- Add a flow chart to help users visualize the overall flow

　- By clearly categorizing "Operation Instructions", "Operation Results", "Caution", "Supplement", etc.,

　　Make it easy for users to find the information they need and streamline the flow of explanations.

2. Manual Creation and Establishment Support

　Can maintain quality even after delivering improved manuals within Hammock Corporation.
